Wisteria

May 5, 2010

I finally went out and bought some purple paint – I’m trying to stick to a very limited palette, but this painting was supposed to be about purple.  I started scraping off the wall color, for one more try, and decided I liked it half scraped off.  I’m finally finished with this subject (there are two unsuccessful earlier attempts on 100 Landscapes).  I learned a lot while doing it, notably that I have so much more to learn!

You know everything when you know that you, like all of us, have always a lot to learn and each time more and more.

Really beautiful Casey, lovely textures! It’s great to learn by accident, isn’t it? I guess learning there is so much more to learn is progress too!😉

GORGEOUS! I do love wisteria, and you’ve got a really interesting surface texture on this (so far as I can tell from a photo!)

Charming! Glad that you scraped away. From where I sit, the marks in the lower right look like two figures walking out of the frame. Two putti sans wings.
