In San Francisco with Claire and Jana
On the way back from Hawaii (gosh already more than a week ago!), we spent a few days shopping, wining and dining in San Francisco with our daughter Claire, on for one wonderful afternoon in Berkeley, with Jana Bouc. Jana managed to get reservations at Chez Panisse, which was a real treat for a family of foodies like us. (Claire even skipped a class to come along – her professor texted back the he completely understood, given the circumstances) Click on the photos below for a better looK.
Here we are outside – ok, we had a little wine with lunch….
And here is an (unfortunately very dark) photo of Jana and Michel in front of a gorgeous flower arrangement inside the restaurant. Jana’s shirt was a perfect match.
The next day we bumped around Haight Ashbury, watching people try on hats
Claire tried one on too, and eventually bought it :
we found a shop filled with vintage cowboy boots
I wish I could say that Jana and I had sketched together, but there wasn’t time this visit – I did get to look through her latest journals, though, which are really beautiful.
And here is a leftover sketch from Maui – fellow patrons of the Hard Rock café in LaHaina – it was a gorgeous day, and all the windows were open to the sea breezes – sigh…………
