Brittany

August 3, 2008

We’re back from Brittany – home for one day to do laundry and re-pack for our week in Provence.I’m having some scanner trouble – and just general computer trouble, but I was able to scan a few of my sketches. These are very quick ones, done in situ. I have quite a few, but I just can’t get my scanner to do more than this today.

From the looks of these, you really could have been fishing! 😉
Just lovely–beautiful house with green shutters–that just might be my favorite.

That coast looks so pretty and I love the way you have captured it, Casey. The messing around in boats sketch is charming, as are your cottages.

Enjoy what appears to be an ongoing, blissful summer holiday.

Hey, you jetsetter, you, don’t forget to save up your energy for your trip here next month ;D. I’m glad you got these sketches scanned, at least—they’re vintage Casey, so colorful and fluid.

Beautiful, Casey. As Laura said, they’re vintage Casey. You’re so good at capturing a moment in these deceptively simple sketches. Great color, as always.

    Brittany, Provence … sigh.

Thanks for the scenes from Brittany. I’m envious of your trip to Provence… the lavender must be coming in to full bloom. I’ll have to imagine. Lovely sketches, as always, and beautifully illuminated.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be the rooftop gable but I love them all. They are so free.

My favorite is the green shutters, but I love the sandy scenes too. Looks like a wonderful place to be! Bill is right, you capture a moment beautifully and so quickly too.

Lovely, looks like a grand time. I really like the look of the smudged pen lines from the watercolor. I’ll have to try a non waterproof pen.

When I lived in Jersey, we used to go to St Malo for the day on the hydroglisseur. The house/roof you have drawn reminds me of rooflines I used to see then.
