Some old hardware

October 17, 2007

This was done for watercolor class – an example of rust. I think these are mechanisms for the shutters that used to be on our house – but were changed long before we moved in. I always love old hardware – even though it was conceived for utilitarian purposes, it is usually beautiful in its own way.

I like this painting – does this mean the garden gate is hanging open?
Your dog is going to run wild and bite the neighbor.

I love rust – the color and the texture and the patina it gives to old objects – and yours is perfect.
